What store connection solves

After connecting a store or external platform, Marcto can read authorized data such as products, orders, customers, ads, analytics, sheets, or documents. Agents can then use that data for operations diagnosis, content generation, project planning, and automated reports.

Connecting a store is optional. You can start by entering brand, product, and project context manually. Connect platforms when you want agents to work from real business data or monitor recurring signals.

When to connect a store

Connect external systems when you need to:

  • Analyze Shopify product pages, orders, inventory, discounts, or conversion performance.
  • Generate PDP copy, ads, email, or social content from store product data.
  • Include GA4, ad platform, spreadsheet, or document data in analysis.
  • Create scheduled tasks such as weekly operations reports, inventory alerts, or competitor checks.
  • Reduce manual copy-paste by letting agents read authorized sources directly.

Before connecting

Check that:

  • You have admin or authorization access for the target platform.
  • You know which store or account should be connected.
  • Your team has approved which data Marcto can access.
  • Customer, order, and ad data use complies with internal policies.
  • At least one brand exists so imported data can be associated with the right business context.

Steps

  1. Open Connectors or the store connection entry.
  2. Choose a platform, such as Shopify, GA4, Google Ads, Google Drive, or Google Sheets.
  3. Click connect or authorize.
  4. On the platform authorization page, choose the correct account or store.
  5. Review the requested permission scope.
  6. Finish authorization and return to Marcto.
  7. Confirm the connection status is successful.
  8. If sync is supported, wait for the first sync to complete.
  9. Use the connected data in brands, products, projects, chat, or automation.

How to use connected data

After connection, reference the data in a project or chat.

Example prompt:

Using connected Shopify product data and GA4 conversion data, analyze the 5 product pages with the weakest conversion over the last 30 days.
Output:
1. Likely issues;
2. Data that still needs validation;
3. PDP copy and creative recommendations;
4. Priority order;
5. An execution checklist that can be saved to the project.

You can also combine connectors with automation, such as generating a weekly operations report or checking inventory and ad anomalies daily.

Data and permission notes

Follow these principles:

  • Connect only the platforms needed for the current work.
  • Let only authorized teammates manage connections.
  • Treat customer, order, ad spend, and internal document data as sensitive.

If you are unsure whether a platform should be connected, test the workflow first by uploading a file or spreadsheet manually.

Success checks

After connecting, verify:

  • Connection status is successful.
  • The authorized account is the correct store or platform.
  • Marcto can read the expected data type.
  • Chat or projects can reference the data.
  • Unused connections can be reauthorized or disconnected.

Common issues

If data is missing after authorization, the first sync may still be running, the account may lack permissions, the wrong store may have been selected, or the platform API may be temporarily unavailable. Check connection status first, then reauthorize if needed.

If the data should not be used directly by agents, export a report or spreadsheet and upload it as a resource or project asset instead.

If you are just starting with Marcto, you do not need to connect a store immediately. Build brand, product, and project basics first; connect live data when you need operations analysis.
